   As part of our summer works programme, Redmonds Building is closed for the next few weeks for improvements.

2. Making Liverpool schools sun safe this summer

   Liverpool John Moores University is working with the Skcin cancer charity and the Clare Daly Foundation to roll out the Sun Safe Schools accreditation across primary schools in the Liverpool region, which will benefit up to 10,000 children.

3. Screen School students scoop Royal Television Society award

   A comedy-horror film produced by students at the LJMU Screen School has been named the winner in the Comedy Entertainment category at the Royal Television Society North West Student Television Awards.

4. Wonderful week of Bicentenary year graduation ceremonies

   Nearly 5,000 students and 65 members of staff officially graduated this week across 14 joyous ceremonies at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral. The graduates will go down in LJMU history, picking up their accolades in the university’s 200th year.

5. Meet the electric Formula Student team heading to Silverstone this summer

   Intrepid engineering students are hoping to race LJMUs first electric racing car around the world-famous Formula 1 track in July.

6. Summer graduation 2024

   This July, LJMU celebrated the achievements of 5,341 students who graduated across 15 ceremonies at Liverpool Cathedral.

   A programme of improvement works to our estate is taking place over the summer months.

8. School of Education project inspiring next generation of teachers and students

   Spearheaded by School of Education lecturer, Adam Vasco, the two-year project aims to bridge the gap between school and university to ensure that people of all backgrounds, especially those from the Global Majority, have the confidence and support to choose university study.

9. School children experience immersive technology spaces

   To support the Department for Education's STEAM agenda, the Faculty of Arts and Professional Studies, has started a programme of visits from school children across the region.

10. Blooming lovely: LJMU cultivates its Forest School

    LJMU is utilising its green spaces with the help of students and volunteers in a bid to enhance primary trainee teachers' education journey with the development of the Forest School Initiative.
