   Here are some highlights of what happened at the first two graduation ceremonies of the week.

2. LJMU and LCR collaboration creates 44 apprentices for autism charity

   LJMU has collaborated with LCR to transfer £132,000 of unspent Apprenticeship Levy to Autism Initiatives, funding 44 new apprentice care workers for the charity.

3. Level 5 and Level 6 students - share your views for a chance of winning £100

   Could you spare a few minutes to complete a survey about your studies? The UK Engagement Survey (UKES) is a national survey asking students to comment on your engagement with different kinds of learning activities.

4. Vice-Chancellor welcomes aspiring leaders from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities

5. TRANSPEER in Lisbon

   The Portugal-leg of TRANSPEER, the international researcher development programme, has taken place in Lisbon.​​​​​​​

6. Celebrating Black History Month

   For this year's Black History Month celebrations, LJMU is involved in a range of events.

7. LJMU receives Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and National Teaching Fellowship

   LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). Dr Philip Denton, Principal Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, is the recipient of the NTF and the paramedic team at LJMU’s Schools of Nursing and Allied Health received the CATE.

   We are delighted to announce our two new Corporate Charities - Claire House Children's Hospice and The Girls Network.

   Sky News anchor Gillian Joseph delivered a brutally honest account of being black in Britain in the LJMU Roscoe Lecture on Wednesday.
