   We caught up with the co-chairs of the current LJMU staff networks to find out what they have already achieved and what their plans are for 2022.  

2. Scholarships for people of colour on policing course

   Opportunities for people of colour in specialist policing roles including counter-terrorism are being made available thanks to a partnership involving Liverpool John Moores University.

3. £10m study to predict heart and stroke disease

   EU's Horizon Programme funds TARGET< a collaboration with 10 countries led by LJMU to use AI models to track common disease evolution

4. Respect Always schools’ competition winners recognised by PVC

   Secondary school pupils have been recognised by LJMUs Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience) Professor Phil Vickerman for demonstrating what respect means to them, and their school communities, as part of a creative competition.

5. ADHD Foundation 'Neurodiversity Umbrella Project' welcomed onto campus

   You may have noticed a rainbow installation of more than 80 umbrellas in the Student Life Building. We're delighted to partner with the ADHD Foundation to bring the Neurodiversity Umbrella Project.

6. Launch of Men's Staff Network

   The Men’s Staff Network will provide a space for colleagues to celebrate the positive contributions and achievements of men; raise awareness of the issues affecting men and boys and the associated impacts on wider society and offer opportunities for formal and informal networking and mentoring.

7. LJMU submits 600 academics to Research Excellence Framework 2021

   On March 25, the University hands over its best research to the 2021 Research Exercise Framework, the REF. With more than 600 academics put forward and dozens more colleagues behind the scenes, the REF is arguably the largest project undertaken by the university community.

8. Inclusive Allyship Programme (In Association With The Challenging Racism Webinar Series)

   Following the Challenging Racism Collaborative Campaign (webinar series), the University of Kent, Liverpool John Moores University and City, University of London are working with Inclusive Employers to deliver a virtual, Inclusive Allyship Programme.

9. International Pronouns Day

   International Pronouns Day seeks to make respecting, sharing and educating about personal pronouns common practice.

10. Could you be the EDI rep for your faculty or Professional Services?

    LJMU has created five Associate Dean positions across the faculties and one for Professional Services to support the university in driving forward the EDI agenda.
