LJMU are delighted to share Liverpool Business School’s first report (“Sharing Information on Progress”) as a signatory of the United Nations’ PRME initiative (Principles of Responsible Management Education).
Emily is LJMU’s Archivist and Special Collections Librarian, responsible for looking after the university’s collection of rare, unique and distinctive books and archive materials. It was during her time at school that she first began thinking about a career working as the custodian of such special documents, publications and artefacts.
Harcourt was a student at the Liverpool City School of Art and Crafts, a historic predecessor to the current Liverpool School of Art and Design. He became a highly respected stained glass window artist and thanks to diligent record keeping from his family, many of his original window designs, alongside prints and personal letters from his time at the School of Art now tell both his personal story and the institutional history of the university that we know today. The records are held within LJMU’s Special Collections and Archives.
Nickianne worked at LJMU for just short of 30 years, teaching on and then leading the university’s Media and Cultural Studies provision. Sadly, she died in 2019 following a period of illness, leaving behind a multitude of memories and legacies for students and academics alike.
Stafford Beer was a scientist, poet, painter, founder of management cybernetics and world leader in operational research. He was appointed Honorary Professor of Organisational Transformation at Liverpool Polytechnic in 1989, and today the Collection bearing his name is among the most prized of LJMU's archives.
Jane was a student at the F.L. Calder College of Domestic Science, one of LJMU’s historic colleges, where she qualified as a teacher. She went on to teach at schools in Wales thanks to a personal reference from Fanny Calder herself. Records from her life help to tell the significant history of LJMU as an institution that supports the training of teachers, always placing importance on providing education for all. Lilly is an inspiring media production student who aims to break down barriers in the movie industry and is inspired by trailblazing women in film, and her own family too. She’s also a dedicated volunteer, having raised money and given her time to various charities in Teeside. In 2023, her volunteering work was recognised as she was awarded a British Citizen Youth Award.
The Forensic anthropology group is committed to the development of protocols and guidelines to increase the reliability of the recovery, documentation and analysis of human remains. We provide casework consultancy for forensic anthropological analysis, facial approximation and mass grave excavation.
