5. Paid opportunities for LJMU students to be a part-time school tutor with The Tutor Trust

   Become a paid school tutor alongside your studies with The Tutor Trust and hear from an LJMU student who is currently working for the organisation.

6. Librarian recognised by national Library Association

   Academic Engagement Librarian Gemma Wright has been recognised by CILIP, The Library and Information Association, as an outstanding professional helping to lead the sector into a new age of information.

7. Climate Emergency: Active Travel Plan to incentivise cycling and walking

   Incentives for staff and students to travel sustainably are being put on the table to back the university's newly-approved Active and Sustainable Travel Plan.

8. First Step Spring Internships available for Level 4 students

   A new pilot internship programme for first year students (level 4 only) with little to no previous work experience launched on Monday 15 January and close at midnight on Sunday 4 February. There will be no interview process for these opportunities, the Student Futures team will undertake a matching process between participating organisations and students. The internships will begin on Monday 4 March (start dates may vary for each role).

9. Menopause cafes to take place in person throughout 2023

   To keep conversations moving forward around the menopause, dates in January, April, July and October 2023 have been set for the next four menopause cafes.

10. Athletics coach Graham helps sprinter Ola Abidogun win Commonwealth bronze

    LJMUs Head of Capital Development, Graham Pilkington, was in Birmingham earlier this week as he watched one of his athletes, Ola Abidogun, win bronze in the T45-T47 100m.
