2. Championing positive culture change

   It was standing room only at LJMU's BAME Staff Network launch held at Sensor City earlier this month. The session, which was chaired by Professor Ahmed Al-Shamma’a, featured a range of enlightening and informative keynote talks.

3. Immersive Storytelling Experiences explored at Liverpool Screen School Symposium

   On December 14, Liverpool Screen School welcomed over 200 guests from industry and academia and over 30 speakers, including demonstrations, to discuss how immersive technology was impacting on storytelling.

   A renowned comedian and writer, the Public Health England national lead for mental health and wellbeing and an LJMU Honorary fellow were among the impressive speakers that informed and enlightened almost 300 delegates at the Let's Talk Disability and Mental Health Conference.

5. Astronomical Day celebrating National Care Leavers Week.

   In celebration of National Care Leavers Week LJMU welcomed 40 looked after pupils from 10 schools across the North West Region.

6. Marine technology professor wins two prestigious research awards

   Professor Jin Wang from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology has recently won the following prestigious awards: Outstanding Contribution to Marine Safety award for 2017 and the 2017 Royal Institution of Naval Architecture (RINA).

7. Zia Chaudhry MBE is to join Liverpool John Moores University as the Director of the LJMU Foundation for Citizenship

   As Director of the LJMU Foundation for Citizenship, Zia will lead the University’s social engagement activity, building on LJMU’s long history of community engagement and impact, ensuring that the University maintains strong and innovative partnerships with other community organisations.

8. Malaysia Graduation 2018

   LJMU has established strong relationships in South East Asia, and a mark of this success is the annual graduation of students in Malaysia.

9. Another successful year for the online summer course “Sustainability and Employability”

   Over 60 students successfully completed the online summer course Sustainability and Employability: Understanding Sustainability Issues and Getting Ready for the Job Market.

10. Graduation review Wednesday 11 July

    Wednesday saw the School of Sport Studies, Leisure and Nutrition graduate in the morning and the Public Health Institute and the School of Education in the afternoon ceremony.
