1. LJMU appoints global figure to lead research and innovation in health

   Director of Public Health Wales Professor Mark Bellis returns to Liverpool institution.

2. New Associate Deans for Diversity and Inclusion appointed

   LJMU has appointed six Associate Deans for Diversity and Inclusion (ADDI), representing each of the five faculties and professional services, to support the university in driving forward the diversity and inclusion agenda.

3. Teaching textile and craft processes to high school pupils

   Staff and students from the Liverpool School of Art and Design have opened their workshops to pupils from Crosby High School as part of a four-month long collaboration exploring university learning.

4. Double win for LJMU students at Innovation in Business Awards 2022

   A student and a recent graduate from LJMU have scooped two awards at the Liverpool Chambers Innovation in Business Awards 2022.

5. Students learn traditional techniques to create sustainable fabrics and garments

   Throughout the academic year more than 120 undergraduate, MA and PhD students from a range of disciplines across the Liverpool School of Art and Design have learnt a variety of traditional skills from leatherwork to weaving.

7. Black History Month through the eyes of a local Liverpool pupil

   This month Ceana Khonje, a local pupil from Belvedere College in Liverpool took on a work experience placement here at LJMU.

8. Oar-some marathon rowing challenge

   Danny Cullinane, a Senior Lecturer in the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, is attempting to row further than he has ever rowed before, by completing a marathon distance (42,195 metres) in aid of the charity True Athlete Project.

9. Outreach programme takes pupils to London

   Local school children have visited University College London (UCL) as part of an LJMU widening access programme. Access All Areas is an initiative from LJMU’s Outreach team which arranged the first university exchange for year 11 pupils.

10. Extra Security is coming – Get Ready!

    LJMU will soon be bringing in additional security to protect everyone’s data, with the introduction of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to some online services.
