  1. European, Public and International Law

    The research interests of the European, Public and International Law Research Group include: human rights, terrorism, collective security, European Criminal Law, EU Law, comparative law, regional government and more.

  2. Children and young people insight

    This project aims to create a universal definition of physical literacy in England to hopefully catalyse efforts to adopt, support and promote physical literacy in practice.

  3. Teaching and learning within PROTECT

    PROTECT offer two types of research degrees - PhDs (Doctor of Philosophy) and MPhils (Master of Philosophy). Learn about PROTECT's postgraduate teaching, learning and research speciailsms.

  4. Electrical and Electronic Engineering facilities

    The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Research Centre has a wide range of facilities, including probe stations, test samples, semiconductor parameter analyzers and a range of three-phase and multiphase (five-phase, six-phase and nine-phase) machines too. The Centre also has two-level and three-level voltage source inverters and a three-phase to nine-phase direct matrix converter.

  5. Social behaviour, ecology and conservation

    Our interest lies in the evolution of animal societies and the interactions that occur within these societies and their link to emotion, cognition and communication. We primarily study primates (including humans) but also other species including birds.     The Novel and Bio-Based Materials Research Group are involved in civil engineering and infrastructure construction materials, sustainable pavement engineering and asphalt technology, cement and concrete research, ceramic materials and more.   7. Sustainable Resource Processing and Reuse

    The Sustainable Resource Processing and Reuse theme is investigating advanced technologies and solutions to address current sustainability goals, climate change and reduction of carbon footprint for example anaerobic digestion, biodiesel production from waste streams, water and wastewater purification and resource capture.
