   The award celebrates LJMU as an ‘anchor institution’ with a university-wide effort contributing to impactful social value across the region.

2. Sport and Exercise Science education adds £3.9 billion income to the UK economy

   Results of a new report show that Sport and Exercise Science courses added £3.9 billion in income to the UK economy, with average salaries for SES graduates after six months of employment at £21,100 per annum. Over the course of their careers, SES graduates earn on average £667,000 more compared to their non-graduate peers.

3. Dinosaur footprint expert to feature in Channel 5 series fronted by Stephen Fry

   Dinosaurs with Stephen Fry, airing from Sunday 12 February on Channel 5, will feature expert analysis from LJMU’s Dr Peter Falkingham. He will explain how birds are modern descendants of dinosaurs by looking at the motion of ostriches compared to the T. rex.

4. New way to request visitor parking and out of hours or security access

   Campus Support (Security) now has a number of staff request forms available via the LJMU HelpMe portal, to help with the management of requests.

   My LJMU, Canvas, Outlook and the Microsoft Authenticator apps are essential for all new students.

6. LJMU reveals digital image bringing people face to face with Seventeenth Century Scottish soldier

   LJMU’s Face Lab has unveiled a digital reconstruction of the face of a Seventeenth century Scottish Soldier whose body was discovered at a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013.

7. Mental health lecturer launches website to help medical professionals support asylum seekers and refugees

   A new online resource hub to help health care professionals signpost refugees and asylum seekers to support services has been created by a senior lecturer in mental health at LJMU.

8. Improving how medicines are managed in the NHS

   The first research collaboration in the UK between a hospital, university and community pharmacist is taking place through a unique project from LJMU, the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust and LloydsPharmacy.
