1. In Memoriam: Nickianne Moody

   It is with great sadness that the University announces the death of Nickianne Moody following a period of illness.

2. LJMU and LCR collaboration creates 44 apprentices for autism charity

   LJMU has collaborated with LCR to transfer £132,000 of unspent Apprenticeship Levy to Autism Initiatives, funding 44 new apprentice care workers for the charity.

3. LJMU receives Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and National Teaching Fellowship

   LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). Dr Philip Denton, Principal Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, is the recipient of the NTF and the paramedic team at LJMU’s Schools of Nursing and Allied Health received the CATE.

4. Milky Way research earns Parliament invite

   Early-career researcher Hannah Dalgleish was invited to Parliament after making a new discovery about the Milky Way.

5. Hundreds of local school pupils get taste of university

   LJMU welcomed almost five hundred Year 11 pupils to its Future Focus Days as part of the Universitys sustained widening access programme, giving young people an insight into the opportunities Higher Education can offer.

6. International Business Management & Strategy Seminar

   The International Business Management and Strategy (IBMS) research group present a seminar on international business at Liverpool Business School.  The purpose of this workshop is to bring together expert practitioners and academics in contemporary areas of international business to discuss historical and current trends in international business. In addition, to examine strategies for international business in the digital era, best practices and how researchers and practitioners can bridge the knowledge gap. The seminar is structured under four key areas of interest  - social media, artificial intelligence, business solutions and emerging markets. 

7. LJMU donates microscopes for African youngsters

   A project is underway to ship LJMU microscopes to Africa.

8. Enhancements to 'See My Tutor'

   Changes to the See My Tutor system include a new landing page, enhancements to appointment booking, and the ability for tutors to capture and share notes from the meeting

9. We know more about relationships now than we knew before 

   A collaboration with pupils and staff at St Vincent's school and funded by Children in Need Janette Porter and Kay Standing from Sociology, supported by LJMU placement students

10. Individuals ‘can be profiled’ via Virtual Reality platforms

    Study by psychologists raises ethical questions about data capture
