3. Stay safe this winter

   The winter break starts this week and we hope you all to have an enjoyable and safe break.

4. Songs, stories and games earn history lecturer national recognition

   Singsongs, card games and radio shows would not normally be part of a History degree unless you are lucky enough to be taught by lecturer Lucinda Matthews-Jones, that is.

5. LJMU Marks National Inclusion Week (2020)

   National Inclusion Week runs from the 28th Sep - 4th Oct 2020 and gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to inclusion in and outside of the LJMU community.

6. Transgender Remembrance Day: Gender identity, trans-awareness and policing

   Our EDI team caught up with Christian Owens, founder of GenderSpace, to discuss gender identity, trans- awareness and policing for Transgender Day of Remembrance.

7. Honour Based Abuse, Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriage conference held in partnership with Savera UK 

   LJMU equality and diversity team worked in partnership with SaveraUK to host an inspiring HBA, FGM and FM event in November 2019.

8. 'Ask for Martin'

   LJMU and JMSU work hard to support all students who have been victims of harassment and/or assault.  However, the recent reports of increased spiking in clubs and bars in Liverpool and other cities around the UK are extremely concerning and we want to reassure all students that support is available to anyone affected by this issue. 

9. Melissa crowned Pulp Idol for teen pregnancy novel

   UP-and-coming novelist Melissa Grindon hailed LJMU's writing community after being crowned Pulp Idol by Liverpool literary organisation, Writing on the Wall.

10. Graduate and Placement Recruitment Fair – Wednesday 12 October, 12-3pm, Student Life Building
