7. CPH shortlisted in North West Coast Research and Innovation Awards

   LJMU’s Centre for Public Health has been shortlisted in the ‘Best example of advancing local NHS systems for innovation’ category at the 2015 North West Coast Research and Innovation Awards for the Centre’s Integrated Monitoring System (IMS).

8. New era of gravitational wave astronomy

   Astrophysics Research Institute works with European Southern Observatory to observe first light from gravitational wave source.

9. LJMU first university to be recognised with Cheshire and Merseyside Social Value Award

   The award celebrates LJMU as an ‘anchor institution’ with a university-wide effort contributing to impactful social value across the region.

10. Discovery of a New Galaxy in Cosmic Neighbourhood

    Astronomers, including Professor Maurizio Salaris from the Astrophysics Research Institute at Liverpool John Moores University, used the Hubble Space Telescope to photograph the globular star cluster NGC 6752 (located 13,000 light-years away in our Milky Way's halo).
