   The Children, Young People and Families Interest Group within the Institute for Health Research focuses on improving children's health and wellbeing. Find out more about their research work.

3. Centre for Natural Products Discovery

   The interconnected research theme of the group is the prevention and cure of human diseases. We look at: synthetic organic medicinal chemistry, natural products drug discover, photochemistry, nutraceuticals and food supplements, pharmacology and toxicology.

4. Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement

   Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement or ‘PPIE’ has become a wide-spread phenomenon in health and social care research. PPIE is considered the gold standard of research and is typically required by funding bodies (such as the NIHR) to access grant funding.

8. Next steps - Priorities for deepening and broadening

   We identified that our priorities for development involve consolidating some areas, promoting some SDGs which are not typically present in our work, and influencing wider strategy within the institution. Our final goal is about embedding PRME into our strategic management practices.
