1. First Step Spring Internships available for Level 4 students

   A new pilot internship programme for first year students (level 4 only) with little to no previous work experience launched on Monday 15 January and close at midnight on Sunday 4 February. There will be no interview process for these opportunities, the Student Futures team will undertake a matching process between participating organisations and students. The internships will begin on Monday 4 March (start dates may vary for each role).

2. Take a quick survey to raise money for a local charity!

   The National Student Survey (NSS) launches this week for final year undergraduates. If you’re a final year student, you can help LJMU raise money for a local charity simply by taking a short survey.

3. Register to vote in the General Election

   Find out all you need to know to register to vote in the General Election on 12 December.

4. Postgraduate Research Experience Survey 2019

   The 2019 Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) is now open. The survey runs from Monday 1 April until Friday 10 May.

   Its back! The 2022 Virgin Pulse (VP) Step Challenge is now open for registration.

6. LJMU representatives explore partnership opportunities in India

   Regional Manager for South Asia, Shailender Silamsetty, and International Partnerships Manager, Dr. Ian D. Bennett spent time recently visiting Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in order to explore new partnership opportunities and showcasing the LJMU brand overseas

   Submissions are now open for the PHD VC Studentship scheme 2023/24

8. LJMU launches Sustainable Development Goals hub

   LJMU is outlining its commitment to the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a microsite which highlights the research and knowledge exchange, student experience and place and partnership activities, that showcase the university’s ongoing journey towards a more sustainable, prosperous future for local communities and the whole planet.

   We have received the sad news that our former Energy and Environment Manager Bob Steventon passed away earlier this week.
