1. Women In Leadership: What Does It Take For Women To Rise To The Top? (Event Invite - 26th Feb 2020)

   After 33 years of service, Julie Lloyd (Executive HR Director at LJMU) retires from the University. Julie is passionate about the progression of women in the workplace and has always advocated for more women in the boardroom - In her talk, Julie will explore the critical issues as to why we are not seeing more women in top positions and offer tips and strategies for overcoming the challenges to womens advancement and career progression.

3. Give out Wellbeing Journals to all your students in your Personal Tutor meetings

   Copies of the new 2022-23 Wellbeing Journal are now available for all students, and academic staff are being encouraged to hand them out at their first personal tutor meetings with students.

4. Coffee and Connections

   The next Coffee and Connections event takes place on Thursday 12th September at Exchange Station from 8.15am.

5. UKRI open access monograph funding changes

   A reminder that UKRI has recently announced their guidance and requirements with regards to publishing open access monographs, which come into place from 1 January 2024.

6. Chair and Panel Member Briefing Sessions

   Three in-person sessions are being offered in Exchange Station for academic colleagues who wish to become a Validation/Periodic Programme Review chair or panel member.

7. New MacBook loan service

   We are now offering a new service to loan MacBook computers.

8. Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in Research and Knowledge Exchange

   Nominations for the Vice-Chancellors Awards for Excellence in Research and Knowledge Exchange 2021 are now open.

9. National award for LJMU libraries

   LJMU’s Library Service has received national recognition for the support it offers to students.

10. Your LJMU, Your Voice: staff survey findings

    The results of the Your LJMU, Your Voice staff survey reveal that employees consider LJMU to be a good place to work but there are clear areas for improvement. More than 1,400 staff – over 53% of our workforce – took part in the survey in May to help the university learn more about the experience of working here.
