  1. Record-breaking supernova discovered

    Astronomers scanning the sky to make new discoveries in the universe have witnessed a record-breaking cosmic explosion about 200 times more powerful than a typical supernova - and more than twice as luminous as the previous record-holding supernova.

  2. GRADitude Award

    For the first time, this year’s Amazing Teaching Awards from JMSU will feature a new award (the GRADitude Award) for a member of staff who had or is having a huge, positive impact on a final year student’s experience at LJMU.

    All Professional Services staff have until 5pm on Monday 27 March to vote for their preferred Staff Governor candidate.

    Following the call for nominations, eight candidates are standing for election, with the election period opening on Monday 5 June and running until Monday 19 June.

  5. New Subcontracting Policy approved

    The approved Subcontracting Policy sets out the requirement for subcontracting provision for degree apprenticeships delivered across the university.
