1. Tim Nichol meets PM of Vietnam as we expand our global reach

   Tim Nichol met with the Prime Minister of Vietnam at the weekend as LJMU sealed a partnership with one of the country's up-and-coming universities.

   The university is saddened to report the death of Gaynor Holmes who will be known to many staff for her long years of service in HR.

   We are saddened to learn of the death of our former colleague, John Windle.

5. Armistice Day 2024 arrangements

   We will mark Armistice Day by observing a two-minute silence at 11am on Monday 11 November.

6. Student Information System Upgrade

   The University’s Student Information System (SIS) is being upgraded. SIS will be unavailable during the upgrade, from 5pm on Thursday 21st November until 8am on Tuesday 26th November.

7. Revised new student welcome webpages now live

   Staff are encouraged to take a look through the information we are sharing with new students before the start of the 2023/24 academic year.

8. Scholarships for new students starting September 2024

   Every year we award a range of scholarships from £1,000 to £5,000 that don't need to be paid back!

9. Formula Student road to Silverstone explored in new 1823 Podcast

   In a special edition of the LJMU 1823 Podcast: The road to Silverstone, Dr Christian Matthews is joined by LJMU e-Racing Head of Team 2022, MSc student Cameron Reedy, and former Head of Team, Rhian Griffith, who now works as a mechanical engineer at the Small Robot Company.
