1. New university report cover sheet and guidance

   The Secretariat shares with you the latest update which came into force on Monday 4 December 2023, with immediate effect.

2. Student Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions take LJMU to Northern Ireland

   The university sent more than sixty staff and students to Belfast welcoming more than 700 visitors to two applicant events.

3. Christmas closure and support services over the festive break

   The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

4. Women in Professional Services event: Wednesday 12 October 2022

   Staff are invited to the first face-to-face networking event organised by the Women in Professional Services (WPS) Network, taking place on Wednesday 12 October 2022 at the Student Life Building with guest speaker Dawn Corker.

5. What does 'Trans Visibility' mean and why is it so important?

   We caught up with Oli Fitzsimmons, Trans and Non-Binary Part-Time Officer at John Moores Students Union, following Trans Day of Visibility, to hear from him on what an inclusive LJMU community looks like.

6. Northern Ireland Applicant Day

   On Saturday 2nd March, LJMU held its annual Northern Ireland Applicant Day in the Hilton Hotel Belfast.

7. Launch of Men's Staff Network

   The Men’s Staff Network will provide a space for colleagues to celebrate the positive contributions and achievements of men; raise awareness of the issues affecting men and boys and the associated impacts on wider society and offer opportunities for formal and informal networking and mentoring.

8. Vice Chancellor's Awards for Research, Scholarship and Knowledge Transfer 2019

   A summary of the winners of the VC Awards for Research, Scholarship and Knowledge Transfer 2019 conferred at the University Research and Innovation Day in June.

9. Schoolchildren train with sport scientists through LFC Foundation partnership

   The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences welcomed 10 young people from the LFC Foundation to its Performance Sport Unit during the Easter holidays to learn more about the science behind football.

10. New Diversity and Inclusion Policy

    The D&I Team has developed the Transgender and Non-Binary Policy for staff and students, with accompanying guidance.
