1. Expressions of interest welcomed for Academic Board vacancies

   There are five vacancies available and eligible staff should send an expression of interest for the role to the Secretariat.

2. Law students win Oriel Chambers Mooting Competition

   Emily Shaw and Shay McSorley beat off competition from across LJMU, The University of Liverpool, Edge Hill University and Liverpool Hope University to be named the winners.

   Find out more about the Graduate and Placement Recruitment Fair which takes place on Wednesday 12 October, featuring 50+ employers from a range of sectors looking to hire students from across all courses and disciplines.

4. Honorary Fellowship: Simon Kirby

   Liverpool John Moores University awards Honorary Fellowship to Simon Kirby at Liverpool Cathedral on Tuesday 12 July 2016.

5. Honorary Fellowships and Corporate Awards

   Nominations are now invited for individuals and organisations to be considered for Honorary Fellowships and Awards.

6. First Step Spring Internships available for Level 4 students

   A new pilot internship programme for first year students (level 4 only) with little to no previous work experience launched on Monday 15 January and close at midnight on Sunday 4 February. There will be no interview process for these opportunities, the Student Futures team will undertake a matching process between participating organisations and students. The internships will begin on Monday 4 March (start dates may vary for each role).

7. Sports Journalism Student wins prestigious NCTJ Award

   MA Sports Journalism Student, Jack Kinsella has won the ‘Best Student Project’ at the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) Awards for Excellence.

8. English lecturer named British Academy Rising Star for her work with UK war widows

   Senior Lecturer in English Literature & Cultural History Dr Nadine Muller has been named one of this year’s Rising Star Engagement Award winners by the British Academy.
