1. April is Autism Acceptance Month

   Bethany Donaghy, PhD student at LJMU, shares her personal experience with autism, describes common misconceptions, and talks about diagnosis and support.

2. Aldham Robarts Library to remain closed on Sundays until end of 2023

   Staff and students can access alternate library services at the Student Life Building or visit the Avril Robarts Library on Sundays.

3. Start-up funding opportunity for new student businesses

   The LJMU Start-up Hub is excited to announce that the new Bathgate Boost award is now open! The £500 award is designed to support students who can demonstrate their business idea. Sitting alongside this funding is a package of support from the Start-up Hub team built around developing your start-up and skills as an entrepreneur. The award is open to all current LJMU students and new alumni who graduated from LJMU during 2023.

4. National Student Money Week Feb 3rd – Feb 7th 2020:

   Our spending habits can really impact on our sense of wellbeing and the environment. Join LJMUs Student Funding and Money Advice team as we help you develop healthier spending habits that can make you feel better about your finances and create less waste.

5. New service connecting LJMU’s student talent to Merseyside business gets underway

   As a major development towards LJMU’s goal of more readily matching student and graduate talent to the needs of Merseyside businesses, we have entered into an agreement with Unitemps to establish a specialist recruitment service for the region.

6. Responding to our Community and Neighbourhoods

   LJMU is proud of its place in Liverpool and we are at the beating heart of almost everything that happens in the region.  However, with that presence comes a responsibility to be mindful and aware of our potential impact. In partnership with the other universities in the city, LJMU has embarked on a number of initiatives to work with local residents.

7. Student wows gallery with da Vinci public event

   Anna's public workshop combined two of Leonardo da Vinci's passions of music and art in a workshop that explored how music can elevate and influence art.

   Annual fee of £25 for students and £40 for staff/alumni

9. Student teachers learn together with families seeking asylum in Toxteth

   A group of student teachers are working with families seeking asylum in Liverpool to provide education sessions for children without a place at school.
