1. Graduation review: Wednesday 20 November 2019

   Here are some highlights of what happened at the first two graduation ceremonies of the week.

2. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

   1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.

3. Pride in Liverpool 2019 - Saturday 27th July

   Join staff, students and friends for the annual Pride March on Saturday 27th July

4. Tithebarn Street roadworks (from 3 June 2019)

   Please be aware that major roadworks will begin on Tithebarn Street on Monday 3 June.

5. Graduation review: Thursday 21 November 2019

   Day two of graduation week saw more than 750 students receive their awards across two ceremonies at Liverpool Cathedral.

6. Diwali 2019 starts on Sunday 27th October and lasts for five days

   Diwali is the famous festival of lights, when families and friends get together to feast and celebrate. The five day festival begins on Sunday 27th October 2019; each day has its own individual meaning and associated celebration. The third day of Diwali is regarded as the most important day. Diwali literally means a ‘row of Lights’. It is a celebration of light! It is a time filled with light and love. The festival does not follow the Gregorian but rather the Hindu calendar known as ‘Tithi,’ which is a lunar calendar. We would like to wish all our students and staff community who celebrate this festival a very happy Diwali!

7. World Mental Health Day 2019

   World Mental Health Day on October the 10th is the annual global celebration of mental health education, awareness and advocacy. Throughout the week starting Monday 7th– Friday 11th October LJMU Student Advice and Wellbeing Services will be delivering a range of activities and raising awareness to celebrate good mental health and encourage us all to look at what we can do to maintain and promote positive wellbeing.

8. LJMU LGBTIQ+ History Month Events & Activities (2021) - Get Involved!

   RE: The LJMU Together (LGBTIQ+) Staff Network and EDI Team, invite YOU to participate in a series of activities and events to mark LGBT+ History Month 2021!

9. LJMU to run UK's only degree on climate change

   LIVERPOOL has achieved a climate first by launching the UKs first degree in climate change studies.
