   Dr Ana Bras has been nominated as chair of an international committee looking to find solutions to climate challenges across the whole chain of construction.

3. Yoko Ono wishes students ‘Happy John Lennon Day’ - 60 years since Beatles icon enrolled at LJMU

   LJMU recently hosted ‘John Lennon Day’ celebrating both his 77th birthday and the diamond anniversary of the Beatles icon’s enrolment as a Fine Art student at the university.

4. School of Computer Science and Mathematics Christmas social and staff awards

   Staff and students gathered around for festive activities and to appreciate staff rewarded for work above and beyond their normal duties.

5. LJMU supports law students as host of national speed mooting competition

   School of Law students from LJMU, alongside those attending from other universities, took part in the mooting events, presenting their verbal arguments and putting their knowledge to the test that they’ve learnt during their studies.

6. Islamophobia Awareness Month

   November is the start of Islamophobia Awareness Month, and this year also marks 10 years of the awareness campaign, which showcases the positive contributions made to society, by Muslims, as well as raising awareness of Islamophobia in society.

7. IT upgrades coming your way

   During the summer, IT services will be delivering an upgrade to Microsoft Office and Google Chrome will become the default browser.

   The impact made by nine research projects led by LJMU staff has been celebrated at an event on campus.

   A shortage of fertility professionals has prompted a new Masters degree with Liverpool John Moores University.

10. Barrister-to-be selected for national law prize

    A Liverpool John Moores University law student has been awarded the prestigious national Neuberger Prize for her outstanding academic achievement.
