1. Equality, diversity and inclusion in journalism teaching conference

   The journalism department is holding a free one-day conference on EDI in Journalism education on June 26th. Although the conference is geared towards Journalism education, the conference is open to educators from other subject areas who will be welcome to share their research and best practice as well as benefit from transferable, practical ideas around embedding EDI in teaching, learning and assessment and creating an inclusive environment for students.

2. Bike Maintenance (Punctures, General Maintenance and Cleaning) Class - Nov

   The Environmental Sustainability and Energy Team at LJMU are holding a number of cycling based activities and events throughout the year.

3. LJMU PE, School Sport and Physical Activity Network Event

   This face-to-face event is for primary and secondary teachers, Sport/PE students, trainee teachers and sports coaches working in schools. The event will: Disseminate the research activity and projects across LJMU PESSPA network Reflect upon the findings and recommendations of the Ofsted subject PE report series (Sept 2023) Celebrate collaborative activities/events.

5. A culinary trip to Kendal College

   Written by Jakub Pilski, BSc (Hons) Nutrition student. As a BSc (Hons) Nutrition student, I had the chance to join a cohort of students from the BSc (Hons) Nutrition and the BSc (Hons) Sport Nutrition programmes at Liverpool John Moores University on their trip to experience using commercial kitchens and dining at Kendal College.

   Rachel Stalker, Senior Lecturer in Law and founder of the pro bono Legal Advice Centre at LJMU, recently hosted University of Saskatchewan law professor Sarah Buhler.

10. St. George's Park visit

    On Friday 8 March, over 20 students studying BSc and MSc programmes in LJMU's School of Sport and Exercise Sciences visited St. George's Park, the home of the Football Association.
