3. MA Art in Science students present at World Museum Liverpool

   Art in Science master’s students from Liverpool School of Art & Design have recently collaborated with World Museum Liverpool curators to present ‘A New View: Silica’; a temporary exhibit in the museum foyer’s display case.

4. Open Research Week 2022

   Liverpool John Moores University, the University of Liverpool and Edge Hill University libraries are delighted to announce our programme for Open Research Week 2022, taking place from 14th-17th February 2022. There are 8 events over 4 days. All will take place over Microsoft Teams and each session can be booked individually. All events will be recorded; if you are unable to attend but are interested in the content, please sign up and the recording will be sent out to you in due course.

5. LJMU green space part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations

   One of LJMUs outdoor green spaces has been formally recognised as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

6. School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences launches Athena Swan Action Plan

   LJMUs School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences (PBS) has launched their Athena Swan 12-point action plan this week.

   The critically endangered orangutan—one of human’s closet living relatives—has become a symbol of wild nature’s vulnerability in the face of human actions and an icon of rainforest conservation.

8. Drones to the rescue: wildlife park footage will help save endangered animals

   Scientists at LJMU are capturing the thermal profiles of animals at a local wildlife park in order to help researchers around the world classify and monitor endangered species in the wild.

9. LJMU scientists part of semi-finalist team in $10 million global rainforest competition

   Scientists from the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences will play a role in helping to improve understanding of the rainforest ecosystem
