3. Mersey Youth Rowing's First Training Workshop with LJMU's Performance Sports Department

   The Performance Sports Department hosted Mersey Youth Rowing's inaugural training workshop. The program, developed by Warrington Rowing Club, promotes diversity in rowing and imparts vital life skills. Coached by experts including Dr. Tim Donovan and Professor Graeme Close, the workshop equips youth rowers with essential knowledge for their competitive journey.

4. Suicide prevention trial is first for schools in England

   NIHR funded trial in partnership with schools and parents to encourage struggling children to seek help

5. Screen School students scoop Royal Television Society award

   A comedy-horror film produced by students at the LJMU Screen School has been named the winner in the Comedy Entertainment category at the Royal Television Society North West Student Television Awards.

   We are delighted to announce our two new Corporate Charities - Claire House Children's Hospice and The Girls Network.

7. Transatlantic research partnership in the arts

   LJMU’s School of Art and Design has agreed a five-year partnership with Transart Institute in New York City, which will see the two organisations offer a joint transdisciplinary doctoral programme from summer 2020. The aim of the programme is to create an exchange in research areas including contemporary art, art history, curating and exhibition studies, digital culture and technology.

   Football-mad students are on their way to dream roles after graduating from the elite FA University Womens Leadership Programme.

10. LJMU receives Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and National Teaching Fellowship

    LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). Dr Philip Denton, Principal Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, is the recipient of the NTF and the paramedic team at LJMU’s Schools of Nursing and Allied Health received the CATE.
