1. Thinking about how to spend the summer?

   As the assessment period draws to a close, for most of our students this month and teaching finishes for the academic year, here are four ways to spend your summer.

2. Policing students become 'nighttime guardians' for safer streets in Merseyside

   The development of the ‘guardian project’ will see LJMU student volunteers be trained alongside street pastors to provide support, to those who need it, in Liverpool’s night-time economy, such as helping people get home or providing emotional support.

3. From female students to football leaders

   Football-mad students are on their way to dream roles after graduating from the elite FA University Womens Leadership Programme.

4. Responding to our Community and Neighbourhoods

   LJMU is proud of its place in Liverpool and we are at the beating heart of almost everything that happens in the region.  However, with that presence comes a responsibility to be mindful and aware of our potential impact. In partnership with the other universities in the city, LJMU has embarked on a number of initiatives to work with local residents.

7. Were sauropods swimmers or walkers?

   An international team of scientists, led by the China University of Geosciences in Beijing and including palaeontologists from the Liverpool John Moores University, has shed new light on some unusual dinosaur tracks from northern China. The tracks appear to have been made by four-legged sauropod dinosaurs yet only two of their feet have left prints behind.

8. Work culture key to success of digital roll outs

   Research by the Institute of Capital Culture, a collaboration between LJMU and the University of Liverpool, has found that creating a positive digital culture at work and encouraging worker confidence in digital tools are the most important factors in ensuring digital roll-outs are successful.
