  1. Professor Peter Toyne CBE DL

    Professor Peter Toyne was the Rector at Liverpool Polytechnic between 1986 and 1992 and the first LJMU Vice-Chancellor, once it gained university status, from 1992 to 2000. His vision for the polytechnic and then the university benefited not just students but Liverpool too.

In recognition of their outstanding services to Liverpool John Moores University has awarded four Ambassador Fellowships to; Professor Phil Redmond CBE, Michael Brown CBE DL, John Kennedy CBE DL, The Rt.   4. Dr Carl Langan-Evans

    As a lad from Liverpool, Carl is similar to so many of those from the northwest region that stay and study here in Liverpool with LJMU. He has undertaken all of his academic studies here with us, and is an expert in the field of making weight in combat sports.
