1. LJMU and LCR collaboration creates 44 apprentices for autism charity

   LJMU has collaborated with LCR to transfer £132,000 of unspent Apprenticeship Levy to Autism Initiatives, funding 44 new apprentice care workers for the charity.

2. LJMU receives Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and National Teaching Fellowship

   LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). Dr Philip Denton, Principal Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, is the recipient of the NTF and the paramedic team at LJMU’s Schools of Nursing and Allied Health received the CATE.

3. New corporate charities

   We are delighted to announce our two new Corporate Charities - Claire House Children's Hospice and The Girls Network.

4. We know more about relationships now than we knew before 

   A collaboration with pupils and staff at St Vincent's school and funded by Children in Need Janette Porter and Kay Standing from Sociology, supported by LJMU placement students

5. Young people in care show their creativity

   Young people in care across the country have shown their creative talent as part of an LJMU contest.

6. Black History Month 2021

   It is essential that our university honours significant dates to the Black community. LJMU's Anita Awotunde looks at the history, why it's important and the plans for 2021.

7. Songs, stories and games earn history lecturer national recognition

   Singsongs, card games and radio shows would not normally be part of a History degree unless you are lucky enough to be taught by lecturer Lucinda Matthews-Jones, that is.

9. LJMU celebrates winners of Paramedic Games 2022

   Current LJMU Paramedic Science students, Mathew Keegan, Emily Brown & Naomi Roberts have been named the winners of the Paramedic Games 2022 at LJMU.
