2. How AR technology could transform flood risk understanding and build resilience in the face of climate change

   Communities affected by flooding, and agencies responsible for managing flood risk, have had a first look at new Augmented Reality (AR) technology which shows the extent of future flood risk in their neighbourhoods.

3. Working in partnership to deliver transgender workshop

   LJMU, in partnership with the Gender Identity Research and Education Society (GIRES), welcomed staff, students and community representatives to an engaging, interactive transgender workshop recently.

4. Silver award for support of the Armed Forces

   LJMU has received the silver award from the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) acknowledging how it provides support to the Armed Forces community.

5. Reserves Day and Armed Forces Day 2023

   LJMU is marking both Reserves Day (Wednesday 21 June) and Armed Forces Day (Saturday 24 June) as part of its pledge to support the Armed Forces community under the Armed Forces Covenant.

6. Improving how medicines are managed in the NHS

   The first research collaboration in the UK between a hospital, university and community pharmacist is taking place through a unique project from LJMU, the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust and LloydsPharmacy.

7. Menopause cafes throughout 2024

   This year we will once again host four menopause cafes for our staff, with the first taking place on Tuesday 16 January, and anyone wishing to attend can book via the staff wellbeing events page.

8. Start-up funding opportunity for new student businesses

   The LJMU Start-up Hub is excited to announce that the new Bathgate Boost award is now open! The £500 award is designed to support students who can demonstrate their business idea. Sitting alongside this funding is a package of support from the Start-up Hub team built around developing your start-up and skills as an entrepreneur. The award is open to all current LJMU students and new alumni who graduated from LJMU during 2023.

9. Staff and students support Whitechapel Centre’s Christmas Appeal

   Whitechapel and LJMU are working together to bring some much needed comfort to homeless people during the forthcoming festive season.

10. Journalism students join BBC 6 Music festival

    Four talented LJMU Journalism students are about to embark on a fantastic opportunity - working alongside some of the biggest names in broadcasting at the BBC 6 Music festival.
