The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences is committed to supporting the UK-wide volunteer STEM Ambassador Programme, co-ordinated nationally by STEMNET and managed locally by MerseySTEM (includes Cheshire). The programme enables anyone with Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) skills to inspire young people and demonstrate the possibilities of STEM subjects and careers.
Each scholarship funding is for three years of a full-time PhD degree programme, and includes tuition fees, a tax-free maintenance stipend of around £18,622 per annum (rising in line with URKI rates) and additional research costs of up to £1,600 per year.
The Astrophysics Research Institute is interested in star formation, stellar evolution, time-domain astrophysics, galaxy formation and clusters, dynamics and evolution.
