  1. Ian Yee

    Ian studied at LJMU as an international student, travelling from Malaysia to Liverpool gaining his degree in mass communication in 2007. Since then, he has gone on to become an award-winning investigative journalist with a focus on social justice issues.

  2. Dr Trang Nguyen

    Trang is a wildlife conservation scientist and environmental activist from Vietnam working in both Asia and Africa to tackle the illegal wildlife trade, and she undertook her undergraduate studies here at LJMU.

  3. Isabella McNamara-Catalano

    Izzy worked within LJMU’s Corporate Communications team as a graduate intern. She began her internship during the university's Bicentenary year in 2023, working on projects to celebrate the milestone anniversary and to engage with students. She graduated from LJMU in 2023 with an MSc in Forensic Anthropology.

  4. Olivia Weston

    Olivia is a marketing executive and a degree apprenticeship graduate, having studied with us over four years before gaining her BSc in Digital Technology Solutions. She is passionate about STEM opportunities for all, uncovering data bias and championing diverse career pathways.

  5. Nick Hall

    Nick is a chef turned schoolteacher turned philanthropist who credits the care and guidance he received from his lecturers at LJMU as the inspiration for his own teaching career and charitable endeavours.

  6. Ibe Hayter

    Ibe founded Cycle for Life, a Toxteth based organisation that strives to ensure the community has a voice in the active travel revolution in Liverpool and the confidence to cycle in their city. Ibe and his team are getting support from LJMU’s Business School to now scale up their community-focused work and increase their social value.

  7. Shaquita Corry

    Shaquita is the 2022/23 Liverpool John Moores Students’ Union (JMSU) Vice President for Education and is passionate about furthering diversity in education. Having lost her mum during her own studies, she demonstrated incredible courage to have completed her degree at such a challenging time in her life, and to then go on to represent the student voice at JMSU.

  8. Maxine Sharples

    Maxine has come full circle since studying as an undergraduate student with LJMU to now working for her alma mater, Liverpool Business School. Alongside her day job, Maxine is a yoga instructor, running sessions with LJMU Sport and for the university’s menopause matters group.
