1. Voice Acting Scholarships

   Voquent.com are a multilingual voice acting agency based in London, UK. They've created the Voquent Voice Acting Scholarship to give one lucky student everything they need to work in the voice acting industry.

2. NSS raises £4,500 for charity in three weeks

   Final year students have so far raised a terrific £4,500 for charity by completing the National Student Survey (NSS) in the first three weeks.

   Each week we will be highlighting either an individual or group of students from LJMU in our new feature, Student Spotlight. It will let people know about your LJMU journey, LJMU life, your experiences in Liverpool and the good work that happens around the university

4. 5G technology used in Liverpool

   Margot James, Minister for Digital and Culture, this week visited Europe’s first dedicated 5G health and social care pilot, helping people live independently at home.

5. Directed Study Week: 4-8 March 2019

   Directed Study Week is an exciting programme of workshops and webinars designed to help students study more effectively and get better results.

6. New Reading List Management System Launched.

   In January 2015 Library Services piloted the use of a reading list management system, Rebus:List with 27 academics across the University with a soft launch that Summer.

7. Marine engineering academic wins prestigious research prize

   The Director of the Liverpool Logistics Offshore and Marine Research Institute at Liverpool John Moores University - Prof. Jin Wang - has been awarded the prestigious 2018 IMechE Award for Risk Reduction in Mechanical Engineering.

8. Discoveries of faint galaxies using supernovae

   Tom Sedgwick, PhD student at the Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI), part of LJMU,has with a team of ARI astronomers discovered 140 ‘new’galaxies, with findings due to be published in April’s edition of the prestigious journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

9. International Conference on Mixed Methods Research (ICMMR 2019)

   Prof Padam Simkhada, Professor of International Public Health at the Public Health Institute, Liverpool John Moores University, delivered the keynote speech in the International Conference on Mixed Methods Research (ICMMR 2019) at the Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala, India on Saturday 23rd February 2019. Professor Simkhada also gave an inaugural speech on the implications of mixed methods on health service research during the conference inauguration ceremony.

10. Student Spotlight: Mike Lynn

    This week we introduce Mike Lynn, a recent LJMU postgraduate who is working closely with organisations such as Joshua Tree and Alderhey hospital to try to fight for improvements in cancer after care nutrition and exercise in paediatric patients.
