1. UK’s first dedicated housebuilding degree

   LJMU’s Department of Built Environment, in partnership with Redrow and Coleg Cambria, have established the UK’s first dedicated Housebuilding Degree.

2. LJMU partnering in major police fatigue study

   The National Police Wellbeing Service has been awarded funding to conduct a study of their sleep fatigue and recovery biometrics programme in partnership with LJMU.

3. Training for managers/personal tutors on disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   The aim of the programme is to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors further support and guidance, in relation to; operating more confidently and effectively, whilst developing themselves and their staff/students positively.

4. LJMU and Merseyside Police Embark on Joint Venture

   Liverpool John Moores University and Merseyside Police have agreed a project to assess the feasibility of a Joint Academy. The University and the force have been working together for the past ten years to strengthen ties between academic study and policing.

5. LJMU showcases advanced practice training to NHS partners

   More than 50 students undertaking master’s study in advanced clinical practice, including those studying via a degree apprenticeship, showcased change in practice innovations and evidence-based projects.

6. Summer and graduate placement opportunities

   A great range of 200-hour part-time (20 hours per week over 10 weeks) and five-month full-time, paid student summer placements are currently available exclusively to LJMU students.

7. Pupils learn media skills thanks to LJMU and the BBC

   School and college pupils from across the region have gained an insight into the media and creative industries, thanks to LJMU and the BBC.

8. Come along to the 'Reverse Big Ideas' event on Policing, Criminalisation and Community

   Staff, students and the public are invited to the LJMU Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies' latest ‘Reverse Big Ideas’ event.

9. Honour Based Abuse, Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriage conference held in partnership with Savera UK 

   LJMU equality and diversity team worked in partnership with SaveraUK to host an inspiring HBA, FGM and FM event in November 2019.

10. Hundreds of local school pupils get taste of university

    LJMU welcomed almost five hundred Year 11 pupils to its Future Focus Days as part of the Universitys sustained widening access programme, giving young people an insight into the opportunities Higher Education can offer.
