1. School of Law debates Ukraine invation

   The School of Law held a discussion day on Tuesday on Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine for people to learn more about the legal context of the war.

2. World Environment Day 2022

   Ahead of World Environment Day this Sunday (5 June), were reaffirming our commitment to green initiatives and sustainability.

3. LJMU's Outdoor Learning Area officially opens

   Trainee teachers and schoolchildren from across the Liverpool City Region are developing new skills and confidence thanks to LJMUs Outdoor Learning Area. The green space in the heart of the city centre has been officially opened this week and is already hugely popular with student teachers and school pupils.

4. Celebrating Cultures Event

   The celebrating cultures event this year had India, China, Canada, Pakistan, Colombia, Nepal, England, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lesotho, Scotland, Vietnam, Nigeria, Indonesia, Greece, Italy, Bangladesh, Switzerland, Iran, Somalia and Brazil being represented. Following this event, an international student wrote a reflection on their experience in participating.

5. Ever thought of applying for a PhD scholarship?

   Paul Carreon, who is currently researching Huntingtons Disease at LJMU, explains how ecstatic he was to be awarded a PhD scholarship and how you can apply for one too.

6. Open Research Week 2022

   Liverpool John Moores University, the University of Liverpool and Edge Hill University libraries are delighted to announce our programme for Open Research Week 2022, taking place from 14th-17th February 2022. There are 8 events over 4 days. All will take place over Microsoft Teams and each session can be booked individually. All events will be recorded; if you are unable to attend but are interested in the content, please sign up and the recording will be sent out to you in due course.

7. Writing for Wellbeing

   An invitation for students to take part in Writing for Wellbeing workshops.

8. Network launched to connect sport science experts with PE teachers and sports coaches

   Experts from LJMUs Physical Activity Exchange have launched a new network so that they can better share knowledge and support the professional development of school PE teachers and sports coaches within the Liverpool City Region.

9. Improving access for BAME students

   LJMU has been part of a successful consortium bid for funds to improve opportunities for Black, Asian and minority ethnic students to undertake postgraduate research.
