    LJMU research and facilities help to protect marine life and preserve our oceans for future generations. Locally, we offer state of the art facilities for students to train the next generation of maritime experts. We also work closely with ports and maritime companies to tackle key industry challenges. Internationally, our researchers have used forensic science to curb the illegal trade of marine wildlife and to detect microplastics in seas.

  2. Faculty of Science Pedagogic Research Group

    The Faculty of Science Pedagogic Research Group is interested in education-related research within sciences and beyond. The group consists of academic staff from three science Schools and service teams with the Faculty and Registry.

  3. Net carbon zero by 2035

    LJMU is committed to becoming net carbon zero by 2035 and this is the key sustainability target set out in the LJMU Climate Action Plan.

  6. Race Equality Charter

    Liverpool John Moores University joined the Race Equality charter in 2022 and was first presented with an Institutional Bronze Award in 2022, in recognition of ongoing work relating to race equality.

  7. Turning a passion for football into a career

    Matthew Ramsbotham, a recent graduate from LJMU's Science and Football course, is well on his way to an exciting career in the sport having taken part in internships at Liverpool and Everton Football Clubs.
