The Department of Computer Science at Liverpool John Moores University is being funded for a project on cyber security and computer forensics by the Royal Academy of Engineering through the Newton Collaborative Fund.
The Research Centre for Critical Infrastructure Computer Technology and Protection (PROTECT) specialises in: security to safeguard systems against cyber-attacks, networking to support the systems’ distributed operations, game techniques, as well as software engineering and artificial intelligence. ART LABS offers contemporary and innovative approaches to professional research, art practice and advanced study.
The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Research Centre has a wide range of facilities, including probe stations, test samples, semiconductor parameter analyzers and a range of three-phase and multiphase (five-phase, six-phase and nine-phase) machines too. The Centre also has two-level and three-level voltage source inverters and a three-phase to nine-phase direct matrix converter.
The Centre undertakes historical research on port cities and examines their relationship to maritime ventures and enterprise.
Current CPMH Co-Director, Professor Nicholas J White (LJMU) and former CPMH Co-Director, Professor Andrew Popp (Copenhagen Business School) are the series editors of the Liverpool University Press book series, Studies in Port and Maritime History.
LJMU’s CPMH members have contributed to or curated several exhibitions and are currently involved in exciting new and inter-disciplinary projects, including one centred on the Battle of the Atlantic 80th Anniversary Celebrations.
