1. Reciprocal Mentoring Programme involving BAME Staff, Black Students and Senior Leaders

   Given the success of last year's pilot, we are running the LJMU Reciprocal Mentoring Programme again and we are extending it to include BAME staff from across the institution. The programme is open to all LJMU Senior Staff from Director Level of non BAME Background and to BAME staff from non-Director Level and to Black Students from all Faculties.

2. Flood resilience expert leads research with vulnerable communities in Cumbria

   Britain is no stranger to wet weather, and with climate predictions forecasting more extreme weather events, experts at LJMU are working with vulnerable communities to help them prepare for future instances of flooding.

3. Sixty years of Liverpool Everyman celebrated with LJMU Exhibition

   Liverpool John Moores University’s Libraries: Archives and Special Collections has partnered with the Liverpool Everyman to celebrate the sixty-year history of the theatre.

4. Improving how medicines are managed in the NHS

   The first research collaboration in the UK between a hospital, university and community pharmacist is taking place through a unique project from LJMU, the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust and LloydsPharmacy.

5. Rio's goal to remove barriers surrounding disabilities within sport

   Second Year Sport Business student, Rio Boothe, is partnering with charities in the North West to raise awareness around the barriers surrounding disabilities and para sport.

6. Discoveries of faint galaxies using supernovae

   Tom Sedgwick, PhD student at the Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI), part of LJMU,has with a team of ARI astronomers discovered 140 ‘new’galaxies, with findings due to be published in April’s edition of the prestigious journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

7. LJMU School of Nursing and Allied Health celebrate multiple March awards and nominations

   LJMUs School of NAH has been shortlisted for nine awards at the Student Nursing Times Awards 2022 as well as a £2,000 Nursing and Midwifery Coordinator Social Prescribing Studentship awarded to Adult Nursing Student, John Wells.

8. Criminology students visit Slovenia for international crime and harm reduction discussions

   Students and staff from the Criminology Department, School of Justice Studies recently spent a week in Ljubljana, Slovenia to discuss crime and harm reduction with a range of governmental and non-governmental organisations.

9. LJMU supporting local people in need

   LJMU has donated £13,000 to a local charity to support people across Liverpool who need emergency food parcels.
