   We are delighted to confirm the return of our ever-popular Roscoe Lecture Series, in this our special bicentenary year. There will be three Roscoe lectures in 2023 in March, May and October.

   Students in Liverpool are benefitting from improved mental health support, thanks to a partnership between universities and NHS services across the city.

3. Schoolchildren train with sport scientists through LFC Foundation partnership

   The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences welcomed 10 young people from the LFC Foundation to its Performance Sport Unit during the Easter holidays to learn more about the science behind football.

   Day two of graduation week saw more than 750 students receive their awards across two ceremonies at Liverpool Cathedral.

6. Shining a spotlight on our long serving staff members

   As we near the end of 2023 and our Bicentenary celebrations, we're shining a spotlight on some of the staff members who have celebrated their own milestone of 25,35,45 or 50 years at the institution.

7. Sean Loughney - who is LJMU's new rising research star?

   Senior lecturer in marine engineering recently won the LJMU Rising Star in Research award.

8. Launch of Men's Staff Network

   The Men’s Staff Network will provide a space for colleagues to celebrate the positive contributions and achievements of men; raise awareness of the issues affecting men and boys and the associated impacts on wider society and offer opportunities for formal and informal networking and mentoring.

9. Apprenticeships and Student Governance policy updates

   The new Apprenticeships Policy has received Academic Board approval and 20 Student Governance policies, guidance and pro forma have recently been reviewed, and have received minor amendments.

10. Impact: LJMU low carbon centre showcases best university practice

    Low Carbon Eco-Innovatory selected by OECD to share learnings on impact on sustainability of Higher Education and research institutes.
