1. VC PhD Studentship Awards and Thematic Doctoral Programme Awards 2023/24

   LJMU has awarded 21 VC PhD Studentship awards to exceptional students at the university.

2. New book reveals lives, loves and losses behind War Widows’ Quilt

   A new digital exhibition book tells the moving stories that lie behind the squares of the War Widows Quilt, a collaborative piece of art made by more than 90 war widows.

3. Military veterans, reservists and their partners offered enhanced support by LJMU

   As an Armed Forces friendly organisation, LJMU has introduced new measures to better support veterans, reservists and their partners who work for the university, or who may look to join the institution in the future.

4. LJMU Libraries, Sport Building and SLB opening times over Easter break

   The Student Life Building will be open 24/7.

5. School of Education project inspiring next generation of teachers and students

   Spearheaded by School of Education lecturer, Adam Vasco, the two-year project aims to bridge the gap between school and university to ensure that people of all backgrounds, especially those from the Global Majority, have the confidence and support to choose university study.

6. Final Year Future Week and Grad Café for final year students

   Graduating this summer? Join the LJMU Student Futures team for a week of talks and careers sessions focussing on supporting your next steps and come along to our Grad Café to meet and talk to fellow students graduating in 2022

7. Expertise in design and technology education shared at international UNESCO event

   Dr Matt McLain from the School of Education attended the event in Shenzhen, China.

8. Annual survey and audit of teaching space to take place this February

   The survey will be conducted between the hours of 9am and 5pm from Monday 5 to Friday 9 February 2024.

9. Training for managers: disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   LJMU’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team, are proud to be working in partnership with coaching and training specialists; Result CIC (Community Interest Company) and are pleased to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors (those directly responsible for staff/students) the opportunity to participate in a half day Training for Managers of Staff with Disabilities & Long-Term Health Conditions Including Mental Health, workshop.

10. Annual survey and audit of teaching space to take place this October

    The annual survey and audit of teaching space will take place across the university between the hours of 9am and 5pm from Monday 23 to Friday 27 October 2023.
