1. 91 LJMU students jet off to study abroad this month

   Over ninety students will head off to 18 countries this year as part of LJMU's Study Abroad Programme.

4. Public Health institute (PHI) host the European Federation of Environmental Health (EFEH)

   Public Health institute (PHI) host the European Federation of Environmental Health (EFEH) a regional branch of the International Federation of Environmental Health, which seeks to a provide means for exchanging information and experience on environmental health works to promote co-operation between countries

5. Make a difference for The Whitechapel Centre

   For the last two years we have been involved in the Whitechapel Christmas Appeal and thanks to you all donating an amazing amount of gifts, you helped make Christmas special for The Whitechapel Centre clients. We are delighted to be supporting the initiative again and hope that you're are all feeling as generous as in previous years.

6. TRANSPEER in Lisbon

   The Portugal-leg of TRANSPEER, the international researcher development programme, has taken place in Lisbon.​​​​​​​

7. Alumnus wins coveted poetry prize

   We’re thrilled to learn that one of our Creative Writing graduates, Callan Waldron-Hall, was recently recognised for his outstanding writing at the Poetry Business New Poets Prize.

8. Student Spotlight: Abbie Romano

   The representations of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) roles is improving, but there’s work to be done. As of 2018, WISE Campaign (Women into Science and Engineering) announced that the UK is on track to have one million women working in the field by 2020. These statistics are encouraging, and demonstrate an improvement in opportunities shown to young women who pursue the career path.
