1. LJMU relaunches campaign for respect on campus

   LJMU management is relaunching its Respect Always campaign with a lunch and town hall event on March 2.

3. Christmas closure and support services over the festive break

   The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

   A LJMU student was astounded after a private message to marketing guru Steven Bartlett landed him a job within 10 minutes.

5. Double win in the inaugural TrackImpactorg Project Competition

   LJMU has triumphed in two of three categories at the first-ever TrackImpact.org Global Project Competition.

6. Family judge for Cheshire and Merseyside hosts first LAC public debate event

   Her Honour Judge Margaret de Haas QC hosted the first public debate held by LJMU’s Legal Advice Centre, which focused on the legal rights of grandparents.

7. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

   1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.

8. Consultation LJMU and the Atlantic Slave Economy

   In February 2019, LJMU joined the Universities Studying Slavery Consortium (USS), based at the University of Virginia.

9. Academic Board Elections - Non-Teaching Staff

   Following the call for nominations, an election for the non-teaching member of staff on Academic Board will take place.

10. Maritime SuperSkills Project

    Event to celebrate the successful completion of the project at the Maritime Museum, Royal Albert Dock on 13th June 2019. Attended by Iain McKinnon, Secretary Maritime Skills Alliance, local and national employers and LJMU staff who have helped with the project.
