1. Women In Leadership: What Does It Take For Women To Rise To The Top? (Event Invite - 26th Feb 2020)

   After 33 years of service, Julie Lloyd (Executive HR Director at LJMU) retires from the University. Julie is passionate about the progression of women in the workplace and has always advocated for more women in the boardroom - In her talk, Julie will explore the critical issues as to why we are not seeing more women in top positions and offer tips and strategies for overcoming the challenges to womens advancement and career progression.

3. Masters in Art and Design Degree Show: Class of 2020 show their enterprise

   Around 40 students will exhibit their ideas from MA courses in Fine Art, Graphic Art and Illustration, Art in Science, Fashion Innovation and Realisation and Exhibition Studies.

4. Another ‘first’ for LJMU in Sport and Exercise Sciences

   Professor Zoe Knowles is set to become the first woman to chair the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).

5. Public arts visionary leads lecture at Liverpool School of Art and Design

   LJMU welcomed Helen Marriage, the Co-founder and Director of Artichoke arts production company, to its first Luminary Lecture of 2022.

6. First-of-its-kind Jamaican art exhibition opening in Liverpool

   The first exhibition of wholly Jamaican art to be displayed in North-West England will find its home in Liverpool this spring. The exhibition has been curated by Dr Emma Roberts, Associate Dean for Global Engagement for the Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies at LJMU.

7. IT upgrades coming your way

   During the summer, IT services will be delivering an upgrade to Microsoft Office and Google Chrome will become the default browser.

9. New ES1 form available for managers

   The Finance team has recently updated the ES1 form used to assess contractors against HMRCs off-payroll working rules (sometimes called IR35).

10. School of Biological & Environmental Sciences accredited with Athena SWAN Bronze Award

    Biological and Environmental Sciences has become the fifth LJMU school to have received the Athena SWAN Bronze Award.
