1. Returning to campus

   Welcome back and happy new year the university has now fully reopened, and we look forward to seeing you on campus.  There are some continuing guidelines we require everyone to observe to make sure we can keep you all safe

2. Islamophobia Awareness Month

   November is the start of Islamophobia Awareness Month, and this year also marks 10 years of the awareness campaign, which showcases the positive contributions made to society, by Muslims, as well as raising awareness of Islamophobia in society.

3. Study for Success courses

   Academic colleagues are encouraged to highlight this year’s Study for Success Canvas course to students.

4. Impact: LJMU low carbon centre showcases best university practice

   Low Carbon Eco-Innovatory selected by OECD to share learnings on impact on sustainability of Higher Education and research institutes.

5. Upcoming Professorial Inaugural Lecture Series

   The next series begins in November 2022 with Professor Trung Thanh Nguyen from LJMU’s School of Engineering.

6. Student nurses train in the community in new Mersey Care partnership

   Ten trainee nurses will work alongside district and community nurses over the next year as part of a new internship scheme aimed at supporting direct career pathways into the community health sector.

7. Advance HE Aurora Programme final days to apply

   LJMU staff are reminded that the application deadline for the Advance HE Aurora Programme, a leadership development initiative for women, is Friday 4 November 2022.

8. Changes to the Leadership and Development Foundation

   The Leadership and Development Foundation is undergoing some changes to better support all staff development across the whole of LJMU.

9. Digital media and content production CPD courses

   Staff looking to reskill, retrain or advance their skills in digital media and content production may be interested in one of our Screen School’s short courses.

10. Praise for LJMU’s support of care leavers from Minister for Higher and Further Education

    LJMU deserves the highest praise for their success according to the Minister for Higher and Further Education, after it was the first of only four institutions to be awarded the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) Quality Mark.
