   Researchers in the Centre in Evolutionary Anthropology and Palaeoecology have used drones for the conservation of habitats, discovered how Neolithic agriculture spread, and uncovered the earliest evidence of hunting - to point out just a few of our achievements. 6. Stuart Sutcliffe 1940-1962

   A talented artist who studied at our College of Art in the 1950s and is famously known as the ‘lost’ Beatle having originally formed the band with his friend and fellow student John Lennon.

7. Cherie Booth CBE, QC

   The third Chancellor of LJMU, Cherie Booth championed the university locally and further afield, a keen advocate of our ambition to give students real-world experience as a preparation for employment beyond study.

8. Henry Humphreys ‘Humph’ Jones 1878 - 1971

   Principal of our School of Pharmacy in the early 1900s overseeing the school’s greatest period of expansion; LJMU is now one of the oldest providers of pharmacy education in Europe.

9. Rainbow Mbuangi

   Visually impaired footballer Rainbow plays in the England Blind Football squad and works with our experts at the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences to ensure that he remains on top of his game.

10. Her Honour Judge Sarah Wright

    Sarah Wright is a Circuit Judge at Sheffield Combined Court and was one of 10 Bicentenary honorary fellows chosen to mark the university’s 200th anniversary in 2023. She is a graduate of Liverpool Polytechnic and has dedicated herself to the law and judicial system for more than 40 years.
