1. Family judge for Cheshire and Merseyside hosts first LAC public debate event

   Her Honour Judge Margaret de Haas QC hosted the first public debate held by LJMU’s Legal Advice Centre, which focused on the legal rights of grandparents.

2. Women In Leadership: What Does It Take For Women To Rise To The Top? (Event Invite - 26th Feb 2020)

   After 33 years of service, Julie Lloyd (Executive HR Director at LJMU) retires from the University. Julie is passionate about the progression of women in the workplace and has always advocated for more women in the boardroom - In her talk, Julie will explore the critical issues as to why we are not seeing more women in top positions and offer tips and strategies for overcoming the challenges to womens advancement and career progression.

3. Women in football celebrated at inaugural LJMU networking event

   On Wednesday 15 June, LJMU celebrated the work of women in football at the inaugural meeting of the Football Exchange Women's Network (FExWN). The event brought together network members, delegates and industry speakers to celebrate their contributions to the sport and to challenge the realms of what is considered possible.

4. Paid internship opportunities for L5 and 6 students

   Student Futures, LJMUs Careers, Employability and Enterprise team, have a range of exciting, paid internship opportunities available for L5 and 6 (second and third year) students working on a real-life project for a local business/SME.

5. Estranged Students Solidarity Week

   Monday 25th - Friday 29th November is Estranged Students Solidarity Week, a national campaign to raise awareness of the issues affecting students who are studying in higher education without the support of a family network.

6. LJMU donates microscopes for African youngsters

   A project is underway to ship LJMU microscopes to Africa.

7. Kasper Schmeichel talk marks 20 years of Science and Football at LJMU

   Leicester City and Danish international goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel visits students from the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences.

8. In Memoriam: Nickianne Moody

   It is with great sadness that the University announces the death of Nickianne Moody following a period of illness.

10. International sport coaching programme in Malta hits the right mark

    International specialists in the field of sport coaching at LJMU visited Malta this month, rounding off the academic year, as they brought together UK-based MSc Sport Coaching students with their Maltese counterparts on the MSc International Sport Coaching programme.
