   International students can discover the next steps after you've applied for a course at LJMU. We are here to any questions you may have about the process.

2. Harcourt Doyle (1913 – 2001)

   Harcourt was a student at the Liverpool City School of Art and Crafts, a historic predecessor to the current Liverpool School of Art and Design. He became a highly respected stained glass window artist and thanks to diligent record keeping from his family, many of his original window designs, alongside prints and personal letters from his time at the School of Art now tell both his personal story and the institutional history of the university that we know today. The records are held within LJMU’s Special Collections and Archives.

3. Norman Thelwell (1923-2004)

   Norman is considered to be the most popular cartoonist in Britian since the Second World War and some regard him as the unofficial artist of the British countryside. As a graduate of the Liverpool College of Art, the forerunner to today’s Liverpool School of Art and Design, it was here that he undertook a course in illustration, one of the many ex-servicemen and women who joined the school after the war.

5. Dr Susanne Zajitschek

   Dr Susanne Zajitschek is a rising star within our School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, having been recognised for her impact on the student learning experience and her leadership potential in teaching and learning. Joining at the onset of the pandemic in 2020, Susanne has made a big impact at LJMU in just a short period of time.

6. Jasmine Howard

   Jasmine is the 2023/24 President of Liverpool John Moores Students’ Union and is striving to create better ways for students to get support for a whole range of challenges, particularly the hidden ones, that they might face during their time at uni.

7. 7th IAHR/WMO/IAHS International stream gauging course

   Since 2011, the international IAHR/WMO/IAHS training course on stream gauging has been organized in six countries around the world by recognized hydrometry experts.

8. Niamh Charles

   Niamh is a professional footballer and was in the history making Lionesses squad, the England women’s football team, that made it to the final of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She’s an alumna from our School of Sport and Exercise Sciences and was supported during her studies as a Sports Scholar.

9. CPD Masters Certificate of Professional Development in Independent Prescribing for Pharmacists

   This CPD course will provide the skills and knowledge required to ensure safe and effective practice as an independent prescriber.

10. Sir Philip Craven MBE

    Read the oration for Sir Philip Craven MBE on the award of their Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University presented by Professor Frank Sanderson.
