Shirley Pringle was presented with the award at the North West Cancer Research's Awards Ceremony, in Liverpool, earlier this month.
Four academics have been recognised by Club Liverpool for their roles in bringing education and research conferences to the city in 2023.
The project, which began 14 months ago, saw leaders from across LJMU’s ELT paired with Black and ethnic minority Liverpool city leaders to share their lived experiences and inform policy and decision making at the university and beyond.
LJMU’s Professor of Exercise Physiology is also the incumbent President of the European College of Sport Science, and recently welcomed around 2,800 delegates from across the globe to the annual congress, this year held in Vienna.
