  1. Facilities for Built Environment and Sustainable Technologies Research Institute students

    Find out about the range of first-rate facilities used by the staff and students of the Built Environment and Sustainable Technologies Research Institute (BEST) including labs for radio frequency and microwave sensors, highways research, industrial chemistry, soil mechanics, hydraulics, surveying, light structures and materials, structural testing, and concrete.

  2. Electrical and Electronic Engineering facilities

    The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Research Centre has a wide range of facilities, including probe stations, test samples, semiconductor parameter analyzers and a range of three-phase and multiphase (five-phase, six-phase and nine-phase) machines too. The Centre also has two-level and three-level voltage source inverters and a three-phase to nine-phase direct matrix converter.

  3. CPMH Book Series

    Current CPMH Co-Director, Professor Nicholas J White (LJMU) and former CPMH Co-Director, Professor Andrew Popp (Copenhagen Business School) are the series editors of the Liverpool University Press book series, Studies in Port and Maritime History.

  4. Outreach and Public Engagement

    The Astrophysics Research Institute provides exceptional educational and public outreach projects including the National Schools' Observatory, Spaceport, astronomy workshops for schools and more.

  6. Sue Green

    LJMU’s most watched YouTube video features shorthand lecturer Sue, who worked for more than a decade with Liverpool Screen School before retiring in 2017, teaching the skill to aspiring journalism students.

  7. Nikita Parris

    Nikita was a member of the England women’s football squad, the Lionesses, that won the 2022 UEFA Women’s Euro Championships. She was previously supported by LJMU under the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) before becoming a sport development student alongside her blossoming professional football career which now sees her play for Manchester United. In 2023, she was announced as one of ten new LJMU honorary fellows to celebrate our 200th anniversary.

  8. Adam Vasco

    Adam is a former education lecturer who progressed LJMU’s links with underrepresented Black communities in Liverpool, giving them confidence to seek out higher education opportunities.
