1. SPRAT exciting new instrument arrives on Liverpool Telescope

   The Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI) has announced the successful commissioning of an exciting new instrument on the Liverpool Telescope (LT).

   The Lord Mayor of the City of London visited Liverpool this week to back a major growth strategy and new vision for the city region. The Lord Mayor, Alderman the Lord Mountevans, met with business leaders in the city region as part of a visit organised by Professional Liverpool and Liverpool in London.

7. Apply for a paid discovery internship

   LJMU is offering second and final year students (level 5 and 6) the opportunity to apply for a paid 'Discovery Internship' working with a local organisation in the Liverpool City Region on a real-life project that you can really get stuck into.

8. Climate Explorers - pioneering project to educate children in environmental issues

   A unique project led by Liverpool John Moores University is set to produce a lasting legacy of climate change education by creating a suite of new multi-media content for children (7-12 years), parents, and educators.

9. Cave bears may have been adapting to survive the ice age

   Recent research published in Quaternary Science Reviews on the long extinct cave bear (Ursus spelaeus) has found their attempt to adapt to the growing harshness of the last ice age before their extinction.

    LJMU has risen two places in the overall rankings and is placed in the top 10 for its accommodation, course quality, employability and student life.
