1. Staff Car Parking Update

   Following a recent review of LJMU staff car parking provision, the university will continue to subsidise staff car parking until 31 August 2023.

   Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark Power and one of his reciprocal mentors, Labour MP for Liverpool, Riverside, Kim Johnson, reflect on some of their discussions over the past 18 months; how their upbringing has shaped them into who they are today, if Reciprocal Mentoring works and what learnings they will take with them beyond the programme.

5. Alumna wins Golden Globe

   Claire Foy, star of the £100m Netflix series, The Crown, and graduate of LJMU, has won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV series.

6. Transatlantic research partnership in the arts

   LJMU’s School of Art and Design has agreed a five-year partnership with Transart Institute in New York City, which will see the two organisations offer a joint transdisciplinary doctoral programme from summer 2020. The aim of the programme is to create an exchange in research areas including contemporary art, art history, curating and exhibition studies, digital culture and technology.

8. Honorary Fellow Jane Cordell

   Liverpool John Moores University awards Honorary Fellowship to Jane Cordell at Liverpool Cathedral on Wednesday 11 July 2018.
